MUSIC / SOUND
Main Soundtrack - "A Burning Escape"
While searching for a suitable theme that would play over the entirety of our gruesome torture trailer, this music piece from the video game "Metal Gear Solid 5" came to mind, with it's aerie sound effects and rises & drops in bass and high pitched screeches.
We felt as if the gradual rises in high putch tones would be perfect for placing a sort of 'torture montage', giving short glimpses of some of the grusome ways the killer will be harming and 'playing' with his victims. |

Throughout the second half of our trailer, we decided to include a brutal bloody montage of our killer torturing his victims, however to have the scene contrast with a melancholy & relaxing theme, as if the killer himself was listening to it.
Our group agree'd on using the song "I Started A Joke. The theme's second half is particularly harrowing, as it maintains it's calm & relaxed pace, but amps the atmosphere up with a gradual decreasing tone which is evermore unsettling as the theme goes on. We felt this was perfect for the general theme we were going for in our trailer. |

Sound 1: Creepy Ambience

We are planning to use this particular sound effect in frequent locations within our Final Cut timeline, as it has the gradual & aerie build-up we are looking for for the tone our trailer; With some of these occasions being when a title is rolled, and when the various glimpses of torture will be briefly shown. It sounds like a torture scene that you cannot see, you can just hear it happening.
Sound 2: Guts & Gore

The second sound we decided to use features unpleasant & fleshy tearing or ripping sound effects. We are planning to use this as an overlay when the above sound effect ("Creepy Ambience") is playing over a title card or particularly gruesome torture scene. This sound effect will also add to the general feel & tone of our 'Torture / Gore' sub-genre, and will cause the titles appearing to seem that much more menacing & enticing.
Sound 3: Warp of Drums

This final sound that we plan on using sounds like a 'Warping Drums' sound effect. We are planning to place this sound whenever there is suspense building throughout our trailer; i.e. When the killer is preparing his 'kill room', showing brief clips of both his victim(s) led or tied onto differing apparatuses, as well as the killer carefully picking out his torture tool of choice.
