STORYBOARDS
When our group were in the planning stages of creating our Media A2 Trailer, we found having a guideline in storyboard form was much easier than talking amongst ourselves to recap & remember scenes and they would be stages or shot.
When we had finalised an idea as to what our horror trailer would be & what it would inlcude, we got to creating a few storyboards witha basic run-down of how each shot & scene would enter and play their role in respect to the whole trailer.
For example, below you can see we planned from the beginning to have an opening shot of our victim, then transition to the "From The Producers Of..." title card. Afterwards, we planned to show glimpses of our killer/villain, followed by a mini-montage of said killer laying down his weapons & torture tools.
We had already decided on our title cards & what they would say before production of our trailer, so we included them into our storyboards too as a reference point. Following this would come more scenes of creepy, atmospheric shots of the killer's surroundings & tools in his possession.
As far as the early stages of our trailer goes, we decided to play out the first few seconds like this, even back when developing storyboards, as we believed it was a solid way to set the premise for our film, in an engaging & effective way without giving away too much.
